    TAFE-delivered Vocational Education and Training (TVET)

    Get a head start on your career and complete a TVET course, while you’re still at school. All TVET courses help you build practical skills and industry-specific knowledge and count toward your school outcome, with some courses contributing towards an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR).

    Where could studying at ɫֱlead you?

    Combining TAFE and school studies offers direct pathways to further education and employment options.

    These pathways may include:

    • Full-time and part-time ɫֱcourses that give you job-ready skills in a broad range of careers.
    • Pre-apprenticeship courses that give you skills to help enter the workforce.
    • Apprenticeships and traineeships that combine formal studies with work and on-the-job training.
    • Recognition of prior learning gained through formal training, HSC studies and employment.
    • Accredited training may provide credit towards ɫֱVET courses and higher education degrees, along with university courses.

    School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SBAT)

    With a School-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship (SBAT) at TAFE NSW, you can:

    • Earn while you learn.
    • Get hands-on industry experience and nationally recognised training that contributes to your HSC.
    • Could continue into the second year of your apprenticeship after finishing school (School-based Apprentices only).
    • Could gain at least four units of credit towards your HSC (with a potential four more units of HSC credit through the industry-based learning course).
