Eight individuals are sitting together. One man is in a wheelchair, one woman and man have a guide cane. They are all smiling and looking at the camera.

At TAFE NSW, through our Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), we’re committed to creating a learning and work environment that values and promotes:

    • dignity

    • trust

    • respect

    • diversity and inclusion.

As part of this plan we have a specialised team of Disability Teacher Consultants who support students in their learning. Connect with a Disability Teacher Consultant through our Disability Support Services by calling 131 601.

    Connecting people

At Ðãɫֱ²¥our teachers and staff work together to help learners navigate their studies. Our specialised Disability Teacher Consultants assist learners living with disability.

    They do this by:

    • identifying the supports needed

    • implementing individual learning plans, and

    • making reasonable adjustments.

Our aim is to enable full participation, maximise learning opportunities, and build confidence for all of our students.

For more information call us on 131 601 and ask to speak to a Disability Teacher Consultant at your campus.

The Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2025 – 2029

Ðãɫֱ²¥is committed to fostering an environment that is accessible, inclusive and safe - physically, psychologically, culturally and socially.

We recognise that students and employees living with disability should have the freedom to choose their education or employment pathways with dignity and without facing unnecessary barriers.

Building on the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2020 - 2022, the Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2025 - 2029 seeks to ensure that accessibility is embedded in everything we do.

The DIAP is structured around four key areas:

    • attitudes and behaviours

    • liveable communities

    • employment

    • systems and processes

Over the next four years, this plan will guide our efforts to:

    • Shift attitudes and behaviours by building knowledge, capability and awareness around disability inclusion and access

    • Create an environment where everyone belongs, ensuring our working and learning spaces are safe, inclusive and enable meaningful participation for all

    • Provide equitable access to employment opportunities through inclusive recruitment practices, workplace adjustments, and training that delivers skills and professional growth

    • Embed universal accessibility into our systems and processes, ensuring they are inclusive, safe and easy to navigate for all
