    What should I know about WSET exams and certificates?

    When will I receive my Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) results?

    Level 1 and Level 2: Results are available around 2 weeks after WSET receives your completed assessments.

    Level 3: Results are available around 8 weeks after WSET receives your completed assessments.

    Level 4 Diploma: Results are available 10 to 12 weeks after WSET receives your completed assessments.

    What if I fail a WSET or Wine Scholar exam?

    Don’t worry – if you’re a registered student, you can re-sit your exam at the Sydney Wine Academy. You’ll need to enrol in the correct re-sit exam before the registration deadline.

    Just contact us and we’ll send you the booking form and any other details you need.

    Please note: You can only cancel a confirmed exam booking before the registration deadline. Exam fees are non-refundable after this date.

     

    What happens if I’m sick on the day of my WSET or Wine Scholar exam?

    If you’re unwell on the day of your exam, you can apply for a deferral – you’ll just need to provide supporting documentation. Please contact us as soon as possible so we can guide you through the process.

     

    I've lost my WSET Certificate and lapel pin – can I get a replacement?

    Yes – you can order a replacement certificate for WSET Levels 1 to 4. Whether you’ve lost it, changed your name, or would prefer a digital version instead of a printed one, replacements are available. Please note that WSET charges a fee for this service.

    What support is available for people with disability?

    Ðãɫֱ²¥and the Sydney Wine Academy offer a range of specialist support services to assist students living with disability.

    Reasonable adjustment for a WSET assessment

    If you’re living with a disability, medical condition or specific learning need that may impact your ability to complete an assessment, you may be eligible to apply for a reasonable adjustment.

    To apply, please email the Sydney Wine Academy before you enrol, outlining your specific needs. Be sure to include any relevant supporting documents, such as medical or psychological evidence.

    What is an APP?

    APP stands for Approved Program Provider – a term used by the WSET.

    The Sydney Wine Academy is an approved APP, which means it is authorised to deliver WSET courses in Australia and must follow WSET’s regulations and quality standards.

    What is the course refund and cancellation policy?

    To withdraw from your course and request a refund, you’ll need to complete a .

    What else should I know?

    You’ll receive a confirmation email before your course begins with important details about your class. While we aim to run all scheduled programs, courses may be cancelled due to low enrolment or other unforeseen circumstances.

    How can I redeem a Sydney Wine Academy gift voucher?

    To redeem your gift voucher, email us at sydneywineacademy@tafensw.edu.au. We'll guide you through the next steps and help you book your course.

    Are government discounts or subsidies available?

    No. Sydney Wine Academy courses are not accredited and are not subsidised by the NSW Government. All courses are fee-for-service, meaning full payment is required to secure your place.

    Can I study at the Sydney Wine Academy on a temporary visa?

    Yes – if your temporary visa allows you to study in Australia, you’re welcome to apply for one of our courses. Your visa must be current at the time of enrolment and remain valid throughout your course. It’s your responsibility to provide up-to-date visa documentation to confirm your eligibility.
